How to Make a Suspended Ceiling?

Now that we have listed the suspended ceiling materials, we can now move on to how to construct suspended ceilings, which are preferred to add aesthetics and durability to living spaces. It should not be forgotten that a secondary ceiling will be installed in addition to the existing ceiling in suspended ceiling applications, where every step to be followed to install a suspended ceiling correctly is of great importance.

  1. Measure the Size of the Area

The first thing to do when starting suspended ceiling construction is to determine the size of the area where the ceiling application will be made. In this way, you will be able to find out in which measures you need to supply the materials needed. Then you can start planning how often the profiles will be laid on the ceiling.

At this point, working on a paper before applying the profiles to the ceiling and determining how many centimeters apart they will reduce the possibility of making mistakes and reduce the workload.

  1. Move on to Placing the Profiles

After determining the measurement processes and how many cm intervals the profiles will be placed, you can proceed to the profile placement in the area where the suspended ceiling will be applied. The most crucial factor to be considered here is ensuring that the profiles do not coincide with areas such as tiles and ceramics. Another critical point is that you need to install a ceiling that is equal at every point with the help of a spirit level. Therefore, when placing the profiles with the help of a spirit level, check that they are at the same level.

Then start cutting the profiles with the profile-cutting tool. Don't panic if you make a mistake while cutting. Thanks to the connecting tools that you will use at the points where the profiles are short, you can merge the profiles. Then make sure that the profiles you place are flat, and screw them tightly using a drill.

  1. Installation of Carrier Profiles

Once the profiles are in place, you can proceed with the installation of the ceiling hangers. Cut the ceiling hangers perpendicular to the beams. Thanks to the hangers that will support the weight of the ceiling, you will increase the strength of the suspended ceiling before proceeding with the placement. Tie the ropes so that there is a distance of 1 to 2 meters between the ceiling hangers.

After tying the ropes across the entire ceiling, screw them in every third beam along each row of ropes. Thread the wires, which are about 20-25 cm long, into the screws. Then bend them with the help of pliers so that they face downwards.

  1. Laying the Metal Studs

After applying all of the suspended ceiling materials to the ceiling, the application to be done is to mount the drywall on the suspended ceiling. At this point, if you have determined how the lighting of the suspended ceiling will be, channels should be opened on the ceiling in accordance with the lighting style.

When starting the installation, start from the center of the ceiling and work your way toward the edges so that you can more easily work in the corners. When placing the drywall on the suspended ceiling frame, make sure it fits snugly. Suspended ceiling construction using drywall ceiling materials is that simple!
